A walk in the land of the painter Henri Loux. In Rountzenheim-Auenheim, you can stroll along the streets lined with beautiful farmhouses, and on the banks of the Moder River, you can soak up the peace and quiet of the place. The fishermen's boats, which are moored to the bank, let the water flow under their flat bottoms. This bucolic setting has undoubtedly inspired the local artist.

Discover Alsatian houses. From the town hall in Gambsheim, a beautiful and imposing half-timbered building, you can follow the narrow streets to discover more than 70 atypical houses. In neighbouring Kilstett, the "Chemin des Hoftname" will take you back to the Alsace of the early 19th century.

LE CYCLO CLUB DE KILSTETT

Half a day to discover Gambsheim and Kilstett.

In exclusivity, the local cyclo club reveals its favourite playground. A loop which follows the roads on the outskirts of the villages of Gambsheim and Kilstett. The special atmosphere and culture of the two villages invite the cyclists to a journey of discovery through the peaceful nature.

Explore both banks of the Rhine. After crossing the river in an unusual way by the Drusenheim ferry, discover Greffern, Schwarzach, Lichtenau... while following the Rhine biotope, between alluvial forests and bodies of water, up to the Freistett/Gambsheim dam bridge.

The big loop.

The big loop circuit. You will cross a series of municipalities in the Rhine region and in Neuhaeusel, you will cross the last bridge over the Moder, before its waters merge with those of the Rhine. A succession of forests, lakes and unspoilt natural areas await you.

MOUTAIN BIKE ROUTES

3 circuits on forest tracks and paths.

Although these routes do not require any particular riding skills, it is recommended to be equipped with a mountain bike or road bike. Ideal for a family outing in the great outdoors. The longest loop (route 1, red) will take you to the emblematic site of the Gros-Chêne halfway along the route. This is an opportunity to stop in the shade of the oak trees at one of the picnic tables or at the inn. Departure from the Soufflenheim health course (in Soufflenheim, follow "aire de camping-car"). 3 loops: Course 1 (red): 20 km; Course 2 (blue) 14 km, Course 3 (green) 8 km.

EUROVÉLO 15

Suitable for cyclists of all levels and abilities, the Rhine Cycle Route follows one of the longest rivers in Europe from the Swiss Alps to the North Sea.

Coming from Switzerland, EuroVelo 15 is a "nature" route which combines the discovery of pleasant sites along the Rhine or the canal, or at the edge of the woods, while offering cyclists the possibility of visiting the 18 villages of the Rhine region located on the Véloroute and accessible by cycle facilities.

This tour allows you to discover the local heritage in connection with two great artists: Goethe, who visited Alsace in 1770 in Sessenheim, and Henri Loux, a famous illustrator. Passing through Soufflenheim, a stop in a pottery workshop is a must.

The 94-kilometre cycle route between Alsace and Baden offers you the opportunity to discover the beautiful landscapes and picturesque villages of the region by bike. Bordered by the Vosges mountains in the west and the Black Forest in the east, the route winds its way through the beautiful landscapes of the Rhine valley and the alluvial plain of the PAMINA Rhine Park.

VÉLOROUTE DE LA VALLÉE DE LA MODER

After a long journey following the course of the Moder from Wingen sur Moder, the arrival at Drusenheim will mark the end of your journey. You will sit on the banks of the Rhine and watch the ferryboat going back and forth between the two banks. The passing boats open your wandering mind and make you want to come back soon to discover more of the Rhine country.
